Our wines were well received during recent trade visits in London with our distributor Liberty Wines.

A highlight was lunch at Bill Bentley’s one of London’s longest standing oyster bars.

Chardonnays from 2018, 2020 and 2021 were a treat with oysters from Ireland and the hospitality of Head Sommelier Luigi Conca.

2023 Big Bird Chardonnay featured in the Weekend Australian Best 20 whites under $35.

“Initially conceived by winemaker Peter Dawson to celebrate his son Angus’s Olympic rowing pursuits, this elegantly framed chardonnay is more than worthy of its own gold medals. Decades of winemaking experience in combination with winemaking partner Tim James results in a stylish showcase of great Tasmanian fruit. A seductive swirl of white peach and grapefruit, a faint suggestion of nougat and nuts, a cleansing mineral crunch”

93 Points – Nick Ryan, The Weekend Australian

Oozing magnificence with its wonderful levels of honeyed fruit, super smart minerals and vibrant spice which cascade over the sleek simmering acidity and luxuriously buttery consistency. Seriously age-worthy with a morerish tang of texture on the impeccable finish

Dawson James Chardonnay 2020

The bouquet surges from the glass, pink and yellow grapefruit to the fore, plus a   desirable flick of funky complexity on the way through. It’s now entering its second life, with the finale years away. The savoury acidity is its staff of life.
