Big Bird is a mystery
A name shared with sometime swan, sometime crow.
Fledgling strokes on West Lakes, he has plied far flung waters
of Oakland Estuary, Lake Mercer, Henley, Varese,
Lucerne and Sea Forest Waterway Tokyo
Big Bird rows

Big Bird has rowed on from Paris but the wines have been receiving accolades from wine writers.

This elegantly framed Chardonnay is worthy of its own gold medals…. A stylish showcase of great Tasmanian fruit. A seductive swirl of white peach and grapefruit, a faint suggestion of nougat and nuts, a cleansing minerally crunch. 93 Points

Big Bird 2023 Chardonnay
Best Wines – Nick Ryan, Weekend Australian Magazine 16 November 2024

Bright, light colour; intense nougat aromas, detailed and fresh. ‘Milk bottle’ lolly; very dry and textured on the palate. A fine Chardonnay with room to grow. 92 points

COOL CLIMATE WINES

Our grapes are grown on the Meadowbank vineyard, approximately 60 kms northwest of Hobart. Its rugged topography is bounded by the fast flowing, pristine waters of the Derwent River. These grapes are used to create our unique Chardonnay and Pinot Noir single vineyard wines.
