The Wine

6 x 750ml bottles / 12.6% Alc/Vol / 7.5 Standard Drinks

Dawson James Pinot Noir is sourced from some of the original vines planted on the Meadowbank vineyard in the Derwent Valley. The MV6 and Pommard clone vines, planted in 1989, make them some of the most mature vines producing wine in Tasmania today. We value the grapes from these mature vines for the depth, texture and structure that they contribute.

Tasting Notes:
Coming from a low-yielding vintage this is a deeply-coloured, powerful Pinot Noir. Aromas of ripe cherries and florals are complimented by bunchy notes. Fruit flavours are rich and spicy and are woven together with soft ripe tannins all combining to create a creamy texture which is balanced by bright acidity.

The Chardonnay and Pinot vineyard patches selected by Dawson James were planted in 1989. Consequently vine-age plays an important part in the development of flavour and the balance of the fruit.
