The Wine

6 x 750ml bottles

Tasting Notes
A single vineyard wine sourced from the Meadowbank vineyard in the Derwent Valley in southern Tasmania. Made using I10V5 clone planted in 2000.

The 2022 vintage came from a season of two halves – a spring that was cool with plentiful rainfall followed by a summer/autumn, dry and slightly warmer than average.

The end result was low to moderately cropped vines, perfectly ripened fruit, pristine and beautiful – hand picked in the second week of April.

The wine is bright with zesty lemon peel and some struck match on the nose. The palate is finely poised with sweet lemon and grapefruit, flinty mineral and soft lingering natural acidity.

“Beguiling symphonic elegance with soft fruits lapping at the nose and a rapture of silky texture and lime curd acidity blissfully adorning the palate. Effortless.”

THE VINEYARD

The Chardonnay and Pinot vineyard patches selected by Dawson James were planted in 1989. Consequently vine-age plays an important part in the development of flavour and the balance of the fruit.
